1569-1572 – In 1569 Philip II established a
tribunal of the Holy office of the inquisition in Mexico. In late 1571 its
first chief inquisitor Pedro Moya de Contreras arrived in the city, and by Nov
1572 had issued a general prosecution of all the men from John Hawkyns fleet
still in the colony. 31 men were thrown into a secret prison of the Holy office

6 March 1836 – Texas and the Alamo. Mystery

23 Sept 1846 – Monterrey town in southern California was captured
from the Mexicans by the Americans under general Taylor and his success was
followed by the occupation of the whole of northern Mexico by the American
army.
1848 – The Mexican war gave the US land

1861-1863 – In 1861 troops from the UK,
Spain and France landed at Veracruz in Mexico, later the British and Spanish
left. French troops arrived and launched a civil war which claimed 50,000

1900-1911 – US investment in Mexico doubled
to $2 billion. Giving the US more than 43% of Mexican property. 10% more than

1917 – Berlin network reformed in Mexico in
1917 ordered to forment a revolution and create a regime that would invade the

August 1940 – Joseph Stalin’s secret police
the NKVD, later the KGB state terror. Trotsky was expelled from the Soviet
Union in 1929 moving from Turkey to Mexico. Stalin’s agents in august 1940
Mexico murdered him. Trotsky died slowly in hospital from his injuries. His
murderer was Spanish communist Ramon Mercador who Mexico jailed for the killing
