Colombia

1948 – Since 1948, when as a young student, Fidel Castro participated in the violence that rocked Colombia and distributed anti-US propaganda.

1968-75 – Castro began supporting and training M19, a Colombian group that captured the Dominican embassy and justice building in Bogota and assassinated several Colombian judges.

8 Feb 1982 – Miraflores Colombia, under aircraft explosion one person was killed and four wounded.

1983 – BCCI got 49% of Banco mercantile, a 24 branch Colombian bank, later renamed Banco de Credito y Comercio de Colombia. One of the board members was Rodrigo Llorente who was one of the richest politicians in Colombia.

1983 – BCCI got its Colombian bank and added seven new branches over the next four years while its assets grew to $213 million. Drug money in Colombia and BCCI one client was Jose Gonzalo Rodriguez Gadha, a cartel leader who stashed millions in BCCI.

1994 – Roberto Pannunzi Italian mafia was arrested in Colombia. He had links to Colombian cartels for trade in cocaine. He was extradited to Italy and released. Heart attack, and disappeared in 2009. (Timeline internet).
